Netflix has released the first full trailer for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, the upcoming film that brings Pitt back as Cliff Booth, the stuntman and fixer first introduced in Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.
This time, however, Tarantino is not behind the camera. David Fincher directs the film from a screenplay written by Tarantino, bringing together two major Hollywood filmmakers for a new chapter in Cliff Booth’s story.

Set in 1977, eight years after the events of Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, the new film finds Cliff Booth in a very different version of Los Angeles.

From Tarantino’s Script to Fincher’s Film
The project has an unusual history.
Tarantino originally developed the Cliff Booth story as a potential follow-up to Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. According to TheWrap, Tarantino eventually decided he did not want the project to become his next directorial film, and Pitt subsequently approached him about showing the screenplay to Fincher.
That eventually led to Fincher taking over directing duties.
The result is a film that continues a character created by Tarantino while placing him inside Fincher’s filmmaking world.
The First Look: 1970s Hollywood Gets Darker
The trailer gives audiences a glimpse of a very different Los Angeles.
From vintage cars and neon-lit locations to late-night action sequences and violent confrontations, the footage presents a version of 1977 Hollywood that is considerably darker than the nostalgic Hollywood depicted in the original film.

It will then arrive on Netflix on December 23, 2026.
